Shelly attended Wendelstedt Umpire School as an enthusiastic spectator for many years before getting the big break of working in the "Wives' Showcase". The highlight of her pseudo-umpiring career was calling a balk...the low point was covering her head and running from the ball. Shelly has also been a devoted spectator at numerous Eastern League, International League, and FCU games, becoming a connoisseur of stadium food, ice cream, and crossword puzzles. Besides designing websites and flyers for FCU, Shelly has a Master's degree in Education. She is married and has two beautiful sons.
